Beyond Survival Rapid Evaluation
This report presents the findings of a rapid evaluation of the Beyond Survival Project, run in partnership by Flat Out and Inner Melbourne Community Legal.
The Beyond Survival Project is a specialist, integrated socio-legal project working at the intersection of high-risk family violence and policing, where risk to women experiencing violence is compounded or escalated by poor police practice, duty failures or other harms. The project seeks to intervene into and prevent the criminalisation of survivors of family violence.
The rapid evaluation found that Beyond Survival is an effective project which supports outcomes for the individual people it assists, and systemically improves outcomes for survivors of family violence who experience police harms.
“I wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for the support and services of the Beyond Survival Project. I never believed a victim could be wrongly charged until it happened to me. I am truly grateful for their help and the work they do to advocate and fight for justice and equality.”
